CONDITIONS OR THE SALE OF SEMEN 2008


FROZEN SEMEN
(KILVINGTON SCOUNDREL AND WHALTON HIGH FLYER)

1. The stud fee for frozen semen is £750.00 payable in advance when booked or not less than two weeks before the first insemination.
 

2. The mare’s veterinary costs are payable by the mare owner.
 

3. Cost of transporting semen and hire of Equitainer with transport medium is payable by the mare owner. This is £120.00 inc. VAT, payable with the stud fee (£595.00 inc.)

 
4. If the mare does not conceive on the first oestrus, more semen will be supplied at no extra cost for a second oestrus with the exception of transport and hire charges.
 

5. If the mare is not in foal after the second oestrus, the owner has the option to substitute a different mare at no extra charge other than semen transportation and hire charges for one further insemination, either in the same year or the following year.

CHILLED SEMEN
(KILVINGTON SCOUNDREL AND MOUNT HOLLY)

1. The stud fee for chilled semen is £750.00 (Scoundrel) or £500.00 (Mount Holly) payable in advance when booked or not less than two weeks before the first insemination.

2. The mares veterinary costs are payable by the mare owner.

3. Cost of transporting semen (normally overnight) is payable by the mare owner. This is £35.00 for a timed delivery. This sum to be included with the stud fee making a total of £530.00. A deposit of £100 in a separate cheque made payable to Neil Frame is to be sent with the stud fee. This is not cashed and is destroyed when the container is returned to our Vet. 4. The stud requires 48 hours notice of when the semen is required. Transport is not available over bank holidays. Semen collected on Friday a.m. can be delivered on Saturday morning. After that collection on Monday can be delivered on Tuesday. There is no collection or delivery on Sundays.

5. Frozen semen quality can be guaranteed. Chilled cannot, but there is normally no problem.

A veterinary package of charges is available for both chilled and frozen semen is available.

PROCEEDURES TO ENABLE STOCK CONCEIVED THROUGH AI TO BE REGISTERED WITH THE NATIONAL PONY SOCIETY

1. Only use AI NPS registered stallion

2.  Forms involved:
a) To be completed by the Vet taking the semen and to go with the flask.
b) To be completed by the inseminating Vet and blood type of mare using NPS blood typing kit.
c) Certifying mare pregnant within 42 days.

The resulting foal has to be blood typed between 3-6 month of age to be eligible for registration.
